Te Manawa Complex

Unfold New Zealand’s History At The Te Manawa Complex

Te Manawa complex is a distinctive complex and the cultural heart of Palmerston North. Exhibitions of art, science and history altogether weave the foundation of this museum. Featuring more than 55,000 items, Te Manawa had been educating, entertaining and inspiring people of all ages for more than 40 years now. That said, the complex can’t be just termed as an ordinary museum and an art gallery; actually it’s a place, where concept and communities come together to share their knowledge and research work.

The museum is also known for its rotatory exhibitions, programs, and tours. The programs hosted at the museum represent a versatile range of interactive exhibits in an unparalleled blend of Life, Art, and Mind. Furthermore, the museum premises also house two historical buildings- Totaranui Settlers Cottage and Awahou South Schoolhouse.

An Inside Tour of the Museum Complex

Moving ahead, the Te Manawa Museum Complex is completely owned and authorized by the Te Manawa Museums Trust (a Charitable trust). The trust thrives on spreading educational information and the same is achieved through the integrated efforts of acquiring, researching, developing, communicating and exhibiting the material and rational evidence of people and their surrounding environments. For visitors not so keen in unfolding the history, can make an exit to the New Zealand Rugby Museum, which is also enclosed within the museum boundaries.
