The Remarkables is a multi-purpose mountain range and is located on the southeastern shore of lake Wakatipu, Queensland. As the name suggests, The Remarkables are massive mountain peaks that create an impressive backdrop for the waters. The Remarkables mountain range rises sharply and creates an awe-inspiring backdrop for waters; it bestows its visitors with remarkable sights. These huge mountain ranges were named as “The Remarkables” by Alexander Graves, in the year of 1857-58. The alleged reason behind the name is that these are, one of the only two mountain ranges in the world, that run directly from north to south.

Skiing:

Living up to its name, the versatile terrain is widely acclaimed as a ski-field and is perfect for everyone- from beginners to pro lever skiers and snowboarders. The ski-field at the Remarkables, as stated above, is divided into three terrain segments ranging from beginners to advance; visitors can choose the most suitable one as per their skiing skills and budget.

Hiking and Leisure activities:

The highest mountain peak amidst the Remarkable range is the Double Cone mountain; it rises up to a height of 2,319 meters above the sea level; a great place for the hikers to explore. Furthermore, a number of small lakes are also present on the mountains; these lakes form part of the Remarkable sky field and can be apt for enjoying some leisurely activities.
