A credit card in the name of the main driver is required at the time of pick-up. Additionally, when collecting the car, the renter will be required to leave a security deposit which is refundable upon vehicle return. The deposit amount is blocked on your credit card and released once you return the car.
In most cases, Mode allows renters who are 21 years and above to book a car rental for New Zealand. If you are someone between the ages of 21-24, additional charges in the form of a ‘Young Driver Surcharge’ are usually applied. Refer to ‘Rental Terms’ for specific information on driver ages for your preferred pick-up location.
During the rental pick-up, you will be required to bring a valid driver’s license, ID card/passport, and e-copy of the Rental Confirmation Voucher.
